Specification
The ADATA XPG V3 series includes many DDR3 memory kits ranging from DDR3-1600 up to DDR3-3100. You can check the full list above. Our review kit has product number AX3U2933W4G12-DBV-RG.
As you can see on the list, our review kit contains two 4GB sticks and are specified to run at DDR3-2933 (1466 MHz) 12-14-14-36. The declared voltage is 1.65V which is standard for most DDR4-2400 and higher DDR3 memory kits.
Under the heatsinks we can find the Hynix IC from MFR series. It is a popular IC and is in most highly clocked memory kits on the market; and we can also find it in nearly all DDR3-2666 or higher kits. All of the chips have to pass selection so the highest series have the better quality IC thus overclock higher or need lower voltage to reach those clocks.
Closer Look
I do not remember how many times I have repeated a similar sentence but ADATA is selling the memory in the usual blister-type package. This is good protection and at a low cost which is not raising the product price which is probably the most important thing. We can also see what we can expect to find inside.
The back of the package is similar. We just see additional set of fins in the yellow/gold color. There is also a short manual with instructions on how to install the memory. I doubt that anyone will have any problems with that.
The heatsinks are made of aluminum, the same as the included additional fins.
To be honest I have not seen as many good-looking memory kits, especially recently. I also liked the look and solid form of the XPG Gaming heatsinks.
Check out the shots above with red fins and below with gold. In both versions they look great. The colors should also match enthusiast-grade motherboards such as the ASRock OC Formula or the ASUS ROG.
