Package and its Contents
The Ballistix MAX RGB 32GB DDR4-4000 arrived in retail packaging, which is a small, flat box. The box is well described, so we clearly know what is inside. Part of the package’s front is transparent so that we can see memory modules inside.
Our memory kit is designed for AMD and Intel platforms. However, to achieve optimal performance and compatibility, I highly recommend Intel Z490, AMD X570, or AMD B550 motherboards. Older motherboards will probably work, too, as long as the memory controller will be able to handle 16GB memory modules at DDR4-4000.
Inside the box, we will find two memory modules. The installation is straightforward, but we can always find support and manuals on the Crucial website.
The Ballistix MAX and its RGB version have a new design that looks great on every motherboard. The RGB version has a semi-transparent top, which lets the light go through. The top has one advantage, it’s quite wide, so the light covers a larger surface. Except that, everything else is the same as in the MAX memory kits.
Ballistix MAX RGB feels like a high-end product. The memory isn’t cheap, but those who decided on the purchase know why it costs more. The memory kit is simply great, and everything is perfect.
Below are photos of the test rig. The MAX RGB memory is compatible with all counting motherboard brands. Even if we have a motherboard that can’t manage RGB lighting or won’t be able to support RAM lighting, then Crucial provides MOD software that works on every modern chipset and with every motherboard brand.
On the next page, I will tell you some more about the test platform, and of course, I will present our test results.
