As we can see on the below screenshot, tested memory kit is based on Micron IC. It’s pretty typical as Ballistix is Micron brand. Two 16GB modules are dual rank what should offer a bit better performance in some applications than single rank modules ( read single sided so most current 8GB modules ).
Thaiphoon Burner software is showing also many other details regarding used IC and programmed profiles. It’s for sure handy if you don’t want to remove heatsinks but still wish to know what memory chips are installed.
Ballistix Sport LT has one XMP profile which as we see below, is working without issues. Over five hours stability test is enough as we will run many other tests later.
Package and its contents
Retail package contains two memory modules. That will be all. Our test samples are actually two single modules but both are exactly the same and work perfectly stable in dual channel.
Not many brands have white memory kits so for sure Ballistix Sport LT is interesting option for modders and all who like matching components. Some of new motherboard series are white like MSI gaming series based on Z270 and X370 chipsets.
Tested memory contains two dual rank modules, 16GB capacity each. It’s more than enough for most users but more often we see that applications need more RAM. 32GB seems like good future proof option.
I think that photos say much more than I can say. We all see how good Ballistix Sport LT looks like.
Modules are also low profile or maybe I should say standard height so shouldn’t cause any issues while installing even the largest cooling solutions like reviewed last week Noctua NH-D15 cooler.
Since we know how Ballistix Sport LT 32GB DDR4-2666 memory looks like then we can move to the next page to take a closer look at the performance.
