Package and Photos
As usual Crucial put their memory into a plastic box, good enough to protect the memory for transport, if not overly exciting. It doesn’t add much to the overall memory cost though, which is nice.
On the back of the box we can see short description with support contact. Since we have received this sample from United Kingdom office then we can also find a UK address.
It’s worth mentioning that Crucial’s support is really helpful, so if you have any questions or issues don’t hesitate to contact them.
Inside the package we find two memory sticks, 8GB each as expected.
As we see on the photos below, the memory is protected by blue heatspreaders.
It looks decent, but large CPU cooler owners may have some issues as the heatspreaders are unnecessary tall. Modern memory doesn’t really get hot so I see no reason to make the heatspreaders so tall, especially since this product is aimed at the mass market.
Computer enthusiasts like to see their memory in non-standard colors and design. Here we have a standard green PCB, not exciting. That said, PCB color doesn’t change anything but looks. That’s important to some users though.
The silver stripes are popular in memory series from a few different brands, but I’ve always liked this detail. Simple but it improves the heatspreader looks.
