The tested memory kit is rated at DDR5-5600 and, as expected, is based on Micron IC. It’s sad that Crucial no longer manufactures the Ballistix series, so the Pro DDR5 is the highest option in its offer. Instead of overclocked modules, we get highly compatible, low-voltage, and low-temperature modules that should work with every modern AMD and Intel motherboard, as they support both EXPO and XMP profiles. It’s not the fastest, but it still should be more than enough for most users.

The main EXPO/XMP profile is designed for CL46-45-45 and has a standard voltage of 1.1V. However, our ASRock motherboard, was setting the profile as CL46-44-44 1.1V, and it was passing all the tests without issues. Since the voltage is very low and modules run at relaxed timings, we can count on some overclocking headroom. I will tell you some more about it in the performance part of this review.
Below is a list of EXPO and XMP profiles:

  • XMP Profile #1: DDR5-5600 CL46-45-45 @1.1V
  • XMP Profile #2: DDR5-5200 CL42-42-42 @1.1V
  • EXPO Profile #1: DDR5-5600 CL46-45-45 @1.1V
  • EXPO Profile #2: DDR5-5200 CL42-42-42 @1.1V

Below, you can see a stability test on the EXPO profile. The profile works perfectly and is stable on ASRock and ASUS motherboards.

We wish to see tighter timings or at least frequency, as the tested memory kit can run at DDR5-6000 at nothing more than the EXPO profile with 1.1V.

We will take a closer look at the package and memory modules on the next page.
