Verdict and Conclusion
Well, what can I say … all-in-all, I think the performance of the GEIL EVO Potenza is pretty good, especially when you consider they’re rated at DDR4-2400 (1200Mhz). I can now see why they call them … ” top of the line DDR4 Gaming Memory”. The tight memory timings of 15-15-15-35 make all the difference. If you’re one of those gamers that wants speed, stability and hassle-free setup in the BIOS … then you have to really consider the GEIL EVO Potenza. Just select XMP in the BIOS and boom … away you go!
And if DDR4-2400 speeds aren’t enough … you can easily overclock them to DDR4-3000 speeds. Overclocking the GEIL EVO Potenza DDR4-2400 was a breeze. I just disable the XMP profile, and manually set it to x30 on the memory multiplier, set all other settings to AUTO and voila! … DDR4-3000 here we come! If you required to increase your DDR voltage … you could set it to 1.3v or 1.35v, other than that you’ll be fine.
Although the GEIL EVO Potenza don’t come no LEDs, they’re equipped with some nice looking red heat spreader that are designed with GeIL’s MTCD – Maximum Thermal Conduction & Dissipation technology for superior cooling efficiency. If you want memory modules with LEDs you can check out the EVO X or the Super Luce … both are from GEIL.
You can buy the GEIL EVO Potenza DDR4-2400 16GB memory kits for around USD $110.00, which I think is a pretty good bargain, especially when you have the option to overclock these babies to DDR4-3000 (1500Mhz) with no issues. Buy now from Amazon – https://goo.gl/IbmmGP
