Our memory kit is rated at DDR5-6400 and has very tight timings of CL32-39-39. This is very tight not only for such a high capacity but also compared to lower capacities that share almost the same main timings. Most competitive brands don’t have any similar options or are specified as worse.

As expected, the Fury Renegade 96GB uses the new Hynix M-die IC. It’s the same IC we find in 8000MT/s memory kits, but in this case, it’s dual-rank. A dual-rank design may improve performance in some applications. We can see this mainly in professional solutions and in some popular games.
Besides the best IC, we will find Richtek PMIC, the best option for overclocking nowadays. Even though other popular PMICs are not bad, Richtek has the widest compatibility and is fully supported by all popular motherboard brands.

The tested memory kit has three XMP profiles at DDR5-4800, DDR5-6000, and DDR5-6400. Even if your motherboard can’t handle the DDR5-6400 profile, you can pick something at a lower frequency but still fast. It may happen if you decide to use this RAM on the latest AMD motherboards and try to set a 1:1 IMC ratio. Some processors won’t be able to handle that, especially at such high RAM capacity.

Factory Timing Parameters:
XMP Profile #1: DDR5-6400 CL32-39-39 @1.40V
XMP Profile #2: DDR5-6000 CL32-38-38 @1.35V
XMP Profile #3: DDR5-4800 CL38-38-38 @1.10V

Below, you can see how ASRock Timing Configurator reads the main DDR5-6400 profile.

Even though the Fury Renegade memory doesn’t have EXPO profiles, it works well not only on motherboards with Intel chipsets but also on motherboards with the latest AMD chipsets on leading motherboard brands like ASUS or Gigabyte. Most AMD motherboards have full XMP support, but of course, it’s recommended to stick with the manufacturer’s QVL. We had no problems with the ASUS Z790 APEX, MSI Z790 Ace MAX, ASUS B650E-I Gaming, and Gigabyte B650E Master. Since the tested memory kit is designed for Intel, then the review will focus on the test rig with ASUS Z790 APEX.

Below is a screenshot from the AIDA64 System Stability Test.

During the tests, we haven’t seen higher temperatures than 67°C. Even after overclocking at higher voltages, the temperature was not much higher. As far as heat sinks aren’t especially large, they work well.

We will look closer at the package and memory modules on the next page.
