Closer Look

HyperX Impact memory has arrived in a plastic clamshell which is transparent as you can see on the below photo. Modules are well protected and marked with product and serial numbers.

Inside are two 8GB modules designed to work at DDR4-2400 speed.

HyperX Impact 16GB pht2

Inside the package we can also find warranty and installation guide and small sicker with HyperX logo. About the same as we used to see in all other Kingston memory kits. It’s also enough to install your new memory kit.

HyperX Impact 16GB pht3

Memory chips are hidden under the stickers but we can see that Kingston used SK Hynix IC.

HyperX Impact 16GB pht5

HyperX Impact has been tested and tuned for additional performance. We can see that memory timings are much tighter than the general specification of Hynix IC from MFR series. It simply means that memory will be faster than nearly every competitive product. Most memory manufacturers are forgetting that gamers are more often using laptops. Kingston on the other hand well prepared whole Impact line to deliver exceptional performance for those who need it the most.

I was thinking about getting these but all your benchmarks are lower than my stock 16GB SK Hynix DDR4-2133 @15-15-15 so either the Impact or your laptop sucks. I have a MSI GE62 w/6700HQ.

You are reviewing 2400MHz but benching them at 2133mhz because you don’t have a proper test machine…useless! They are slower than stock and you recommend them? Kingston paying you by chance?

I’m guessing the the laptop the reviewer owns does not have the BIOS option on the laptop to run the ram at DDR4-2400.
