Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-7200 32GB Memory Kit Review

Conclusion and Verdict

Earlier this year (Apr 2023) we reviewed the DDR5-6000 version of the Lexar ARES RGB memory kits. They performed extremely well and offered decent performance and overclocking ability. But this time round, we were given the chance to test the faster DDR5-7200 version. And I’m glad we did!

With all memory settings on AUTO and XMP 3.0 enabled, the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-7200 produced excellent scores in all of our benchmarks. During the AIDA64 memory tests, we got a Memory Read speed of 107,920 MB/s, Write speed of 92,127 MB/s and a Copy speed of 97,319 MB/s.

The memory kits offers the same RGB lighting as before, and supports all the major RGB eco-systems out there including Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and ASRock’s Polychrome Sync. It also comes with its own Lexar RGB Sync software allowing you can customize your RGB lighting effects to your liking.

The Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-7200 memory kits features some really black heatspreaders with a matte finish. It’s different from what I’m used to, as most memory kits come with a shiny smooth Aluminimum heatspreader. That said, it seems to be doing an adequate job of cooling the ram. Full load temps reached a high of 57 degrees Celisus.

Utilizing SK Hynix memory ICs, the overclocking ability of these memory kits did not disappoint at all. I was be able to overclock these memory modules to staggering DDR5-7800. All I did in the BIOS was to disable the XMP 3.0 profile, and increased the memory speed from DDR5-7200 to DDR5-7800 with all other settings at default (AUTO). That’s just amazing!

You can buy the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-7200 32GB kit for around USD $139 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3uWnmia

Lexar has yet again delivered an excellent product that will satisfy enthusiasts, gamers, and anyone who’s after fast DDR5 ram, great RGB lighting, good performance and excellent overclocking ability. If you’re one of those users mentioned above, then the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-7200 32GB memory kits is the answer you’re looking for. Go get them now!

Hi,
Could you please share the full timings report of Extreme memory profiles. I’d like to see how it looks with the profile for 6400 for the 7200 module.

Thanks in advance.

MiK
