Conclusion and Verdict
Not everyone is in to RGB, and if you’re one of those users who prefer not to have RGB, then the Lexar THOR OC DDR5-6000 32GB kits could be right for you.
For starters, it offers pretty fast speeds of DDR5-6000 with a low CAS latency of 32-38-38, the lowest I’ve seen so far. And low operating voltage of 1.3v, which means lower temps too.
The lack of RGB is compensated with a nice black heatsink with gold trimmings, and a triquetra design as seen on Thor’s hammer.
During our AIDA64 memory tests the Lexar THOR OC DDR5-6000 performed pretty decently. With all memory settings on AUTO and XMP 3.0 enabled, we got a memory Read speed of 91,265 MB/s, Write speed of 83,775 MB/s and a Copy speed of 84,547 MB/s.
These memory modules uses SK Hynix memory ICs, which are know to overclock very well. And I was amazed to overclock these memory modules to a staggering DDR5-6600. All I did in the BIOS was to disable XMP but increased the memory speed from DDR5-6000 to DDR5-6600 with all other settings at default.
Full load temperatures reached a high of 50 degrees Celsius, which I’m OK with. The included heatsink seem to be doing an adequate job of cooling the ram. So no complaints here.
One really attractive selling point with the Lexar THOR DDR5-6000 32GB kits is the fact that, it’s compatible with both Intel’s XMP and AMD’s EXPO standards. Something you don’t see with a lot of there memory manufacturer.
You can buy the Lexar THOR OC DDR5-6000 32GB kit for around USD $89.99 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3Q4Nnmf. At this price, it’s definitely worth a look. You’re getting fast DDR5 ram with good overclocking abiilty.
Final Thoughts
If you’re after some decent memory kits with no RGB, then take a look at the Lexar THOR OC DDR5-6000 32GB kits. They offer decent performance, low CAS latency and good overclocking ability, plus they’re compatible with both Intel’s XMP and AMD’s EXPO standards too!
