Today I will be reviewing the Mushkin Redline FrostByte Black 4000MHz (8GBx2) 16GB Memory. what make this review exciting is the fact that this is the first 4000MHz memory to be offered by Mushkin. I will be honest I was a little worried because I was going to be using this RAM on a B550 board paired with a AMD 3700X proc. And if you have one of these processors then you know you aren’t guaranteed to be able to run the XMP profile with that particular chip when speed start climbing above that 3600MHz mark. So we will find out later in this review if I was able to use the XMP profile. One of the best things about Mushkin is the quality control. I have reviewed several of their products in the past and have never encountered a problem with any of the devices. They state that they hand test each product and I can believe that! When it comes to RAM you are looking for two things. MHz and CL. The higher MHz and lower CL the better performance you will get. If these indeed run at 4000Mhz and CL18 then this would be some blazing fast RAM. So lets get to it and see if this RAM is as fast as it claims.
Mushkin Redline has been engineered for the ultimate PC experience. Each module is hand tested, and tuned to meet the highest performance even under default settings. Redline High-Performance modules are tested and calibrated to offer more dependable performance beyond what you can find on a spec sheet. If you like to overclock and squeeze as much performance from your PC as possible, then Redline memory gives you that extra edge you need to dominate without breaking a sweat.
I would like to send a big thank you to Muskin for the review sample! Here is a snippet of what they have to say about themselves on their website:
