Patriot Viper 4 8GB DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Kit Review

Specifications and Features

Viper4 specs

Patriot Viper 4 DDR4-3200 memory is slightly taller than standard DDR4 memory but you can remove top of the heatsinks if it will interfere with larger processor cooling. Photo how it looks like is below on this page.

I think that most other things are clearly described in the table above so I don’t have to add much more about general memory specification. Our review kit contains two 4GB modules which base on Samsung IC. It gives hopes on higher memory frequency while overclocking.

Overclocking part will be on the next pages of this review while now let’s take a look at the below screenshot. It’s showing stability in AIDA64 application which is using about 95% of system memory. Test was performed on XMP settings which are DDR4-3200 16-16-16 at 1.35V. Perfectly stable.

Closer Look

Patriot Viper 2x4GB DDR4-3200 memory kit has arrived packed in a retail box with 30th Anniversary logo which simply means that Patriot products are for 30 years on our market.

Package is about the same as we could see in previous Patriot Viper memory kit review. It’s a slim box with good description of the product which we can find inside. On the back there is also contact data to the support and is also mentioned lifetime warranty. It’s already standard on memory market but it’s of course an advantage.

Closer look at the back of the box so you can read what Patriot has to say about their Viper memory series.

Memory modules are additionally protected by plastic clam shell. Inside we can also find small Patriot logo sticker.

Our review kit has green PCB but most of the Patriot memory kits have black PCB. Viper 4 DDR4-3200 kits are available in both options so all depends from luck. In the stores I mainly see memory kits with black PCB while Patriot posted photos of kits with green PCB on their website. I guess that soon all Viper series memory kits will have black PCB.

It of course doesn’t affect performance or overclocking potential. Just matter of esthetics.

As you see on the below photo, top of the heatsinks can be removed and it’s really easy to make. If your processor cooler is really large then this simple feature may help.
