Overclocking
Overclocking is never guaranteed so presented results may vary from results on the other memory kits. I’m not recommending overclocking if you don’t know what are you doing. Too high voltage may damage hardware and it won’t be covered by warranty.
Hynix MFR modules are well know as great overclockers keeping some of the memory frequency records.
Also Patriot Viper III series is confirming high overclocking potential of these modules, reaching DDR3-3000 mark without bigger issues.
Below we can see performance in AIDA64 Cache & Memory Benchmark.
To reach 1500MHz ( effective 3000MHz ) required was voltage of ~1.85V. Maximum safe for these modules is ~1.975V but it’s not recommended to use much higher voltage than declared by manufacturer for longer time.
Here is also MaxxMem result so we can compare how performance is raising in single threaded applications.
Our testing sample was able to run stable at about 2600 CL12-14-14-34 1.65V or 2800 12-14-14-34 1.75V what is great result for a DDR3-2133 memory kit.
DDR3-3000+ results were not fully stable but there is a chance that other kits will run at this clock.
