There were no problems with compatibility, but AMD users have to remember to disable the Gear Down option in BIOS so that the memory will run at CL17 instead of CL18. This is a bit weird, considering that this memory is designed for both AMD and Intel platforms.
The Viper RGB provides great visual effects with the help of Patriot or motherboard software. There were no problems to set various modes of lighting on ASUS, ASRock, and Gigabyte motherboards on which this memory was tested.
Prices of the Patriot Viper RGB 2x8GB DDR4-3600 memory are starting at about $100 depends on the store. Amazon is selling this memory for around $115. The competition has some options at a similar price but usually at CL18 or without RGB lighting.
