The tested Viper Steel memory is based on Hynix IC, but memory chips are rebranded (Patriot logo), while software can’t recognize what memory IC is in use. Probably it’s Hynix M-die as some competitive brands already released memory kits at a bit worse specification, which are listed on various motherboard QVL as Hynix M-die.

The Viper Steel has a well-programmed XMP that works on modern motherboards with AMD X570 or Intel Z490 chipsets. In this review, we will focus on the second one, so Intel Z490. Below is a screenshot from AIDA64 System Stability Test, where our memory kit runs at the XMP profile on the ASRock Z490 PG Velocita motherboard.

As you see, no problems at all, so we can move to the next page.

I will only add that soon, there will be a review of the Patriot Viper 128GB DDR4-3600 memory kit, so if you are interested to see some results, then keep visiting our website.
