The tested Viper Steel LL memory kit is based on a well-known Samsung B-die IC. I don’t think I have to add much more, as all the best DDR4 series have been based on this IC for over three years. Samsung even renewed production of these chips as there was still high demand and nothing better on the market. The same IC can be found in previously released Viper Steel DDR4-4400, but it wasn’t tested at tight timings like the new Low Latency kits.
The memory kit runs well on Intel Z590, Z690, and also on AMD B550 and X570 chipsets. Since the XMP is rated at DDR4-3600 CL14-16-16 1.45V, then most gaming series motherboards should handle it. If it doesn’t, then I would blame the motherboard’s design or BIOS.
Below you can see a stability test performed in AIDA64. Both recently tested ASRock motherboards, so the Extreme and Riptide work without issues with DDR4-3600 and DDR4-4000 Viper Steel LL kits. The DDR4-4000 version will be presented in the upcoming days.
As you see, no problems at all, so we can move to the next page.
