Packaging
As we can see in the pictures below we can see the packaging gives you a little peek at what’s inside. The box is plenty to keep the RAM safe during the shipping process. On the front you get a nice look of the RAM and on the back we get a few of the features the RAM offers.

Inside the box is where the Viper is housed in plastic sleeve that allows the RAM to stay put. And you get a nice Viper Gaming badge.
Closer Look
For better thermal dissipation and distinctive appearance, the VIPER STEEL RGB series DDR4 memory features a redesigned heatshield comprised of high-quality aluminium coated in a pearlescent black paint and a scratch-proof finish. The lightbar embedded on the top of the heatshield brings 5 impressive multi-zones of RGB to the memory module. It fully supports the latest ASUS Aura Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion 2.0, MSI Mystic Light Sync, ASROCK Polychrome Sync RGB Motherboard RGB applications.
As you can see in the pictures below the heat sinks are a lot different compared to the original Viper Steel model. These are a black with a rougher texture compared to the smooth grey metal heatsink on the original.
They both feature the huge Viper logo directly in the center, while maintaining the fins on the top. The RGB light will be shining through a diffuser that pretty much runs the entire length of the module.
The install is like any other RAM, pop it in and fire it up. We are using a AIO so clearance is not an issue here! Another thing about installing new RAM. Be sure to go into your bios and take it off XMP and then proceed with installing new RAM. Or you can use the MEMOK button on your motherboard if its equipped.
