Silicon Power XPOWER Turbine RGB 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Kit Review

Package and its Contents

Each memory module arrived in a separate box. However, every module under the same product number should use the same memory chips and programmed profiles, so there shouldn’t be an issue to make a dual-channel kit out of them. In our case, both memory modules are exactly the same and use, mentioned before, Hynix IC. You can also find dual-channel kits in stores, which are usually a safer choice for PC builders.

Inside of each box, we will find the 16GB memory module rated at DDR4-3600 and 1.35V. Memory timings are quite relaxed, but new processors with a fast and large cache cover additional delays. The most important is the memory clock in this case, which perfectly matches the recommended AMD Ryzen settings.

Memory modules are based on a black PCB and are protected by dark-silver, aluminum heatsinks. On both sides are also stickers with product series and product numbers. On top is a light-bar, so it’s a pretty typical design for memory modules with RGB lighting.

Memory modules look great during work. Actually, they’re looking better than in photos. Cameras focus on a single LED backlight that isn’t so visible during work in a dynamic lighting mode. In this case, you have to trust me. There are better-looking memory kits on the market, but most of those cost much more.

Silicon Power doesn’t provide any software for RGB management, so we have to use motherboard software, which isn’t always perfect. There were no issues on ASUS motherboards, while on MSI, I had to reinstall the whole software and update it, so it started to see the XPOWER RGB memory. If you have any problems, try to work with motherboard software as the memory supports all popular motherboard brands, but as I said, their software isn’t flawless.

Above are additional photos with Silicon Power XPOWER Turbine 32GB DDR4-3600 installed in the MSI X570 Unify motherboard, which will be used for tests.

On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
