Package and its Contents
The memory kit arrived in a retail package that contains two 16GB memory modules. The package tells us all we need to know about the product and the possible support in case of any problems.
Memory modules are built on a black PCB and are protected by white aluminum heatsinks. On one side are stickers with product series and product numbers. On top is a light bar, so it’s a pretty typical design for memory modules with RGB lighting. On the other hand, this is exactly the same design as we could already see in the DDR4 Zenith series. I was expecting more changes since it’s a new generation of memory.
Silicon Power doesn’t provide any software for RGB management. However, the Zenith series is supported by every popular RGB standard and motherboard brand. The RGB management works without issues on our ASUS X670E motherboard. However, after restarting, some LEDs are different colors or blinking. It can be a matter of software or compatibility and can be related to specific motherboards, as I had no problems like that with the Zenith DDR4 series.
On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
