V-Color 32GB DDR5-5600 SODIMM Memory Kit Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed, so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what you are doing. High voltages may damage hardware, and the warranty will not cover it.

V-Color 2x16GB DDR5-5600 memory kit uses Hynix A-die IC, so there is nothing better we can find in DDR5 memory kits nowadays. It guarantees high frequencies and still acceptable voltages while overclocking.

Only a few motherboards support SODIMM DDR5 overclocking, so our choice is very limited. Our tests were performed on the Minisforum AR900i, which doesn’t have a perfect BIOS and lacks some options like memory controller voltage and additional sub-timings. Considering this fact, it’s impressive that the standard V-Color SODIMM memory kit could reach stable 6600MT/s at tight timings of CL32-38-38 and still a reasonable voltage of 1.37V.

The settings on the above screenshot were fully stable in our tests and additional extended tests, which are not presented in this review.

We won’t need overclocking to maintain high performance, but users always want more, and a higher FPS is always a pleasant sight.
