V-Color Manta XFinity RGB 48GB DDR5-8400 CL40 Memory Kit Review

Package and its Contents

The V-Color XFinity memory arrived in a retail package about the size of the typical flat RAM box of other brands, similar to what we could see in previous V-Color memory reviews. The front shows a large X suggesting the XFinity series, while on the back, we can read more about the memory specifications, find support contacts, and find links to a V-Color website.

Inside, we will find two well-protected memory modules. There is no additional manual, but it’s not required as the installation is straightforward, and every motherboard has an installation guide.

The modules are 43mm tall, so they should fit under most large tower CPU coolers. However, most cooler brands have already corrected their products, and nearly every CPU cooler works with tall memory modules.

The memory kit’s heatsinks are made of aluminum and are white. The top bar is semi-transparent, like in most RGB series. The module’s design is, however, quite unique. It’s hard to mistake it for any other memory series on the market, and it is pretty eye-catching. It’s designed to look the best with or without RGB illumination. I wouldn’t call them the best-looking DDR5 modules on the market, but they are definitely high on the list.

The XMP profile’s temperatures were slightly below 70°C, so not the highest, but still acceptable. The memory IC is also resistant to higher temperatures. We have noticed it keeps stability at higher voltages up to 77°C+. We had the same experience with previously tested V-Color memory kits.

The RGB illumination works well on ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI motherboards. It should also work with less popular brands like Biostar or Colorful.

The V-Color memory looks fantastic on our test rig. Below are some photos taken during work.

On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
