V-Color XPrism 8200MT/s memory kit has one XMP profile rated at DDR5-8200 CL40-52-52 and 1.40V VDD/VDDQ. Considering the frequency, voltages are quite low, as most competitive memory kits usually have 1.45V.
The memory kit is designed for only a few motherboards like ASUS APEX/APEX Encore, Gigabyte Tachyon/Tachyon X, or EVGA Dark. Even if we have one of those motherboards, the CPU is also crucial, and the memory kit is not guaranteed to be stable on our PC. In most cases, 8000MT/s is the maximum that can be stabilized on AMD and Intel motherboards.
The memory kit uses Hynix M-die IC and Richtek PMIC, the most popular combo, fully supported by all leading motherboard brands. It’s the best we can find if we search for top-speed, overclocking DDR5 RAM.
Above is a whole timings list that reads ASRock Timing Configurator software, while below is a screenshot from AIDA64 Stability Test at XMP, 8200MT/s settings.
The tested memory kit has no problems with stability or compatibility with the ASUS Z790 APEX motherboard. Still, as I said, it’s not guaranteed that all PC components can handle such speed.
So far, so good. Now, let’s take a look at the product itself.
