Specifications and Closer Look
XMP TIMING PARAMETERS
- JEDEC: DDR4-2666 CL19-19-19 @1.2V
- XMP Profile #1: DDR4-3600 CL18-22-22 @1.35V
The Prism II RGB DDR4-3600 has one XMP profile and it’s enough. The profile is compatible with AMD and Intel motherboards while the memory itself can be found on the QVL of leading motherboard brands.
V-Color uses Hynix IC for their memory kits so also the Prism II is based on Hynix IC. In this case, it’s Hynix C-die and below you can read more details about memory modules. Thaiphoon Burner software shows everything without the need of removing heatsinks.
The memory kit has been shipped to us just after manufacturing so between 16-20 of September. If you were clicking on the Amazon link on the previous page of this review then you can see that the memory is so far available as single modules but soon it will be also in the offer as dual-channel kits. It doesn’t really matter as the same specification uses the same memory IC.
Also if someone dislikes two different colors of memory modules then it will be available to pick two orange or two green. Personally I’m not a fan of different top colors as it’s hard to set matching colors of illumination but it’s a personal preference and the memory looks great either way.
There is also one thing worth to mention as the memory price may suggest something wrong. The Prism II memory is equipped with thermal sensors that are usually not available in inexpensive memory series. Prism II is a high-end memory designed for gamers, even though is inexpensive.
The Prism II RGB shows full stability even after nearly 17 hours of full load. I’m usually performing stability tests for no longer than 5 hours but since it’s our first V-Color product review then I left it in longer tests overnight. The memory also easily overclocks but I will tell you about it on the next pages of this review.
