The entire top cover on K95 RGB PLATINUM is fabricated from a single piece of aluminum, with a brushed pattern which not only provides durability, but also makes it look and feel great. Combine this with the eyecatching industrial design and the overall result is a gaming keyboard of unrivalled quality, desirability and sophistication.
At its heart, the K95 RGB PLATINUM is a platform which utilizes a low-power and fast 32-bit ARM Cortex processor, which together with 8MB of onboard flash storage and high-performance LED display controllers, is capable of driving the most immersive dynamic LED backlighting effects and the most complex macros. This technology is called “hardware macro and lighting playback”, which allows the end user to save any backlighting effects, even the most complicated, and multilevel in-game macros to be saved to onboard memory and played back without need for any external software. All calculations are done in real-time on the hardware.
K95 RGB PLATINUM utilizes a new controller which expands upon the lighting capabilities, in comparison to the previous generation K95 RGB keyboard, for an upgraded, per-key multi-color dynamic vibrant back-lighting. The keycaps were also designed to provide a much brighter and dynamic lighting experience. The new and modern font allows for more light to shine through, making for an even more powerful lighting show and experience. Enjoy virtually unlimited customization with CUE – craft your own lighting profile, or choose from multiple unique presets. Configure different shades of color combined with solid, wave, gradient, and ripple animations across different multiple groups of keys.
A unique feature of K95 RGB PLATINUM is LightEdge, a 19-zone independently controlled light bar running along the top edge of the keyboard and wrapping around the corners. This lighting accent can be programmed with very complex lighting effects, independently from the effects being executed on the main keyboard matrix. So, for example, while the main keys are used to showcase a dazzling Spiral Rainbow animations, the top light bar on its own can showcase a Visor animation.
Cherry MX switches set the standard in mechanical switch technology. Made in Germany with precision engineering, Cherry MX switches are guaranteed to withstand over 50 million key presses, meaning the 50 millionth will feel just like the first one.
In partnership with Cherry, Corsair K95 RGB PLATINUM utilizes new MX Speed RGB mechanical key switches, designed specifically to meet the demands of hardcore gamers. The K95 RGB PLATINUM offers a new choice for those who demand the fastest key switches available. An ultrafast 1.2mm actuation point and light 45g actuation force make them ideal for split-second key presses or clutch gaming moments where every millisecond counts. With the speed you need stay ahead and the accuracy you need to win, Cherry MX Speed RGB is the standout choice for gamers who demand the shortest path to victory. K95 RGB Platinum is also available with Cherry MX Brown switches.
The K95 RGB PLATINUM allows for every key to be fully programmable for in-game actions. However, a special place was reserved for six dedicated G-keys lined up along the left edge of the keyboard. The carefully defined position of six dedicated textured G-keys as well as contoured and textured keycaps on them will deliver the best gaming performance, without fatigue or accidental keypresses. The user can take advantage of those Gkeys to assign to them their most often used macros, keyboard shortcuts or key remaps.
K95 RGB PLATINUM has a USB pass-through port which provides a convenient way to plug in a mouse or USB headset and other devices such as USB flash drives and cell phones. This port is strategically positioned at the top of the keyboard so it does not interfere with anything else around the keyboard. Please ensure both USB connectors are plugged into your PC to take advantage of this feature.
The dual-sided wrist rest is another unique feature found on K95 RGB PLATINUM. It has both softer and harder sides, which can be chosen based on the user’s preference. The wrist rest insert is also magnetized, which allows for it to quickly align itself and fall into place.
While all of CORSAIR’s premium keyboards come with dedicated volume and multimedia controls, for K95 RGB PLATINUM we introduced several new solutions. The volume up/down roller is now larger and smoother in operation. The four media control buttons are now raised higher for better access and visibility under various sitting positions. So, now whether the user is sitting upright or lounging comfortably with eyes at the lower level, he can always easily find the control buttons. Play, stop, pause, skip tracks and adjust volume directly from the K95 RGB PLATINUM.
A true gaming keyboard goes beyond having the right key switches. The term “ghosted” refers to the keystrokes that are not detected and then drop off (for example, when someone presses D-C-U and only sees D-C, the U has been ghosted). While anti-ghosting is present in most gaming keyboards, it is often restricted to a certain number of keys or sections of keys. Popular sections of limited anti-ghosting may include the WASD part of the keyboard as it incorporates the keys that are the most common to use for first-person shooter games. In order to maximize performance with the Cherry MX Speed RGB keys, the K95 RGB PLATINUM keyboard features a 100% anti-ghosting matrix with full key rollover. This ensures that every keystroke will be recognized accurately by the computer, even when simultaneous combinations are inputted by the user. Full key rollover terminology simply refers to the number of simultaneous key presses that can be recognized by the keyboard. Since the K95 RGB PLATINUM can recognize all of its keys being pressed simultaneously, we refer to this as “full key” since no specific value is a limitation.
The proximity of Windows Key to Ctrl and Shift modifier keys may sometimes result in accidental keypresses when you’re really into the game. The K95 RGB PLATINUM features Windows Key Lock Mode, which disables Windows key to prevent interruption in the middle of the game. This mode can be toggled on and off with a dedicated button for quick and hassle free access.
K95 RGB PLATINUM comes with a set of MX-compatible keycaps for WASD and QWERDF keys for both first person shooter (FPS) and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games. Each key is contoured, textured, and soft to the touch, for easy identification by touch and exceptional grip during the most intense gaming action. The grey accents provide visual contrast and adds a striking finish to your system’s look. A key-puller is also included to make removing keys quick and easy for cleaning and/or rearrangement.
Last, but not least, we also though out about users who utilize included USB pass-through port to connect wired HID devices such as USB headsets. Now, the underside of the keyboard provides criss-crossed cable management channels, neatly tuck the headset cable underneath the keyboard and route it to come in front of the player. This solution prevents the cable from hanging above the keyboard, in the line of sight, which can be a distraction and disruptive when gaming.
