Closer Look
Let us take a closer look at the packaging and design/looks of the keyboard.
Here we have the packaging of the Vengeance K70, it is nothing really special about it but it is just a box. And mostly the awesome stuff is inside. But still the box looks good, with a picture of the keyboard and some features on it.
Here we see all that is included in the box, we obviously have the keyboard itself, the wrist rest, a quickstart guide and some contoured textured WASD (I have ZQSD cause of the french layout) and 1-6 keycaps with a key remover tool.
Here we have the keyboard, it is fully black with red LEDs. You can turn on/off the LEDs, choose particular key to light up and change brightness. On the right top we have the media keys, I really love those and use them a lot. My old K60 had them too, and to be honest I do not know if I can live without them (laughs). There is a mute volume, stop, return, play/pause and next button and my favorite the volume wheel. Then next to the media keys there are the Select key, adjust brightness and windows lock button.
Here you can see the textured keys in plays, for gaming they feel nice and it also gives the keyboard a more “gaming” look. But for typing or just doing daily things there are not very great. But I really do like they exist and are included with the K70. The wrist rest is also great, with my old K60 I had a wrist rest for my hand using WASD but I almost never used it, maybe ok for gaming but certainly not for other stuff. But the wrist rest here is a soft rubber plastic bar the same length of the keyboard and that works out a lot better.
On the back of the keyboard we have a USB passthrough which is great to connect a mouse, flash drive, hard disk or a mobile device and next to that something, unfortunate it is only USB 2.0. But still it is great to have on a keyboard.
