Genius Wireless Energy Mouse Review

A Closer Look

The Wireless Energy Mouse actually caught me off guard when I first held it. The build quality is not cheap at all. The blue finish has a slight metallic look to it and is very nice and smooth. The mouse is medium sized and fits greatly in the palm of the hand and the weight is perfect. The mouse is also symmetrical and would be comfortable for any user, regardless of which hand they use.

Each side of the mouse has a rubber grip that is non-intrusive and very effective. The grips are subtle as to not protrude and feel awkward. These most certainly make a difference in overall control.

Beneath the Genius logo on the top of the mouse is another rubber grip for our palm which has a very well designed cross-hatch pattern to keep that mouse from becoming a projectile from your desk.

The scroll wheel follows suit with a cross-hatched rubber grip of its own allowing for very precise clicks and smooth scrolls. The left and right mouse buttons are contoured in a way that is extremely comfortable allowing your fingers to rest nicely on the surface and avoid fatigue. Here we can also see the micro USB port used for recharging the mouse and the power bank.

Just behind the scroll mouse resides a power button used to activate charging from the power bank and for also checking the remaining battery level. Just behind the power button is the four-LED battery indicator that will inform the user how much battery power is left.

At the palm-end of the mouse the standard USB port can be found for connecting and charging your smart phone or other device.

Besides the infrared sensor, located on the bottom of the mouse is some general information, an on/off switch for the mouse, and a storage location for the pico receiver. The infrared sensor is touted as being “Green” by reducing drive voltage, allowing the mouse to funtion at a lower power consumption level. I will also note here that the mouse skates are very slim, which was a surprise.

The pico receiver is pretty much what we would expect from such an adapter and basically disappears once installed into a USB port on your PC or laptop.

The storage location for the pico adapter is excecuted really well. The adapter fits very snug and will not inadvertantly fall out.

Now that we have taken a closer look at the Wireless Energy Mouse, we will move on to the finished looks and performance overview!
