Closer Look
Let us begin with the packaging of the mouse:
The Mionix Naos 7000 is packed in a simple black slide out box, with on the front a picture of the mouse and of course the name of the product. On the back we have some features and specifications of the mouse.
Here you see how the box opens, I personally find this pretty cool. But let us look at what is inside the box…
Just like Steelseries Mionix decided to include a sticker with their products, it is a cool extra you get. Obviously we have the Naos 7000 mouse, would be a little strange when this is not included. And at last a little manual/warranty guide.
But now let us take a closer look at the actual Naos 7000 mouse, shall we?
Just like the Steelseries Rival mouse the Mionix Naos 7000 has an anti-sweat coating, which helps to maintain control of the mouse in long play sessions plus it feels really soft too. On the top of the mouse you have 5 buttons: obviously the left and right click button like all mice, a scroll wheel and then the DPI up and down buttons just situated under the wheel. In the software you can change all the buttons to what you prefer, for example you just use one 1200 DPI then you do not need the DPI buttons, so you can use them for shortcuts or other things.
As you can see the Mionix logo and the scrollwheel are illuminated, and with the software you can change the colors of each zone separately or both the zones to one of the 16.8 million colors. Really nice, even if you do not want colors on your mouse. Then you just turn the illumination off.
On the right side you can see the shape is adjusted to let your ring and little finger rest, the mouse also fits great in the hand thanks to the shape and design.
Here on the left side of the mouse you can see the other two buttons and it drives me crazy to use mice that do not have those two buttons. It is just soo easy, when you are looking in your music library or movie collection in windows explorer and you press on the “action movies” map instead of “comedy” you can just press the lower button to return instead of clicking on the arrows on the top of the screen. Same with internet when you are searching for something and you pressed the wrong page or site,… I may seem lazy but if you use it you will find it really easy. Again the shape is made to hold you thumb beneath the buttons, pressing the lower button is no problem at all but to press the upper one it is a bit more difficult because you need to move your hand.
The USB connector is gold plated, what is great and the mouse has a braided cable something I really love on both keyboards, mice and headsets.
Now let us take a look at the performance of the mouse:
