The Software
The Viper V560 is not fully RGB, so you won’t get 16 million colors. However, you can program the mouse to have 5 customizable profiles with upto 64 colors.
With the free downloadable software, you can adjust the sensor, edit your macros and of course program each of the 9 mouse buttons.
Gaming
I used the Viper V560 while I was benchmarking the GTX 1080 running DOOM. Needless to say I had a good stress busting session. After a good 30 mins of gameplay, I have to say the mouse was flawless and feels comfortable in the hand. By the way, the box says the mouse offers 8,200 DPI, but in fact the Xtreme precision laser sensor offers upto 12,000 DPI for accuracy and speed.
The ceramic footpads are great. It makes the mouse slide effortlessly … and remember, they don’t wear out!
With 9 programmable buttons, does require a little getting use to. I usually prefer less buttons myself. You also get the added bonus of the LED indicator and there’s a physical switch to adjust the DPI levels on the fly.
