Closer Look (Part 1)
The Sharkoon Light² 180 mouse comes in a small box. The box is well described in a couple of languages and has key features listed on the box’s side. Everything we may want to know is printed on the exterior. The package is perfect for retail stores.
We will find the mouse, a user’s manual, an additional top cover, and a spare set of skates inside the box. Everything is well-protected and suggests that the product is high quality.
The mouse has a popular recently honeycomb design that lowers the weight and lets the palm breathe. The top cover can be replaced if we wish to have a more standard mouse.
The cable is covered with a braided textile which seems like a must for higher series of gaming accessories. Let’s be honest; all respected brands are using it. For sure, it makes the cable look better and adds protection.
The mouse has six programmable buttons, which is more than enough for most gamers. We can program five different modes what is also important. We can see a manual switch for the DPI from the bottom, which we can use if the software isn’t in use. It’s a good idea as one of these speeds can be enough for our daily work or gaming.
The mouse uses a PixArt PMW 3360 sensor and high durable Omron switches. PixArt sensors became a standard in higher gaming series mice. The sensor supports between 400 and 12000 DPI. As long as barely anyone will use these top values, they can be helpful for specific games.
The mouse has 63 grams, so it is very light. It moves smoothly on various surfaces, but for the best performance, I recommend a good mousepad. Sharkoon delivered the huge SGP30 XXL pad, which can help get the best results with the Light² 180 mouse. It also looks great with the 3D hex effect.
The SGP30 is 1.2m long so that it can cover most of the standard gaming desk. It’s also waterproof, so we don’t have to worry about spilling some liquids. Of course, it’s recommended to keep it clean. The backside is made of rubber, so it doesn’t slide, even if our desk is made of glass.
