Packaging
The SteelSeries Apex M800 come a familiar color scheme. The package is in a grey box with the signature SteelSeries orange trim. The logo is placed in the upper left hand corner in that bright orange. Making no mistake of the product inside of the package. The front sports a huge graphic of the keyboard. I like the opening of the package under the logo that shows you the actual keyboard and has the saying “Go ahead, touch awesome.” I thought that was a humorous touch from SteelSeries. The back of the package is loaded with information. The back of the box cover just about every freature and specification of the keyboard. This is great if you are physically holding the product in a store and debating whether or not to invest in a mecnical keyboard. The package containing the keyboard slides out of the outer covering, another package feature on most of SteelSeries products, and is ready to be opened.
Contents
Inside the package we find the keyboard tightly secured within the box. The lid has foam supports and the housing the keyboard rests in is very form fitting and the keyboard fits very snug. With the keyboard you will also receive extra rubber feet. Those are secured directly in the center of the plastic tray and are very easy to be overlooked as they seamlessly look like part of the mold. You also get you instruction manual with a couple of SteelSeries stickers. You also receive a few extra keys two of them being alternative ALT keys and the other being a CMD key.
Now let us take a closer look at the Keyboard itself!
