Verdict and Conclusion
After a small amount of time it took to get used to this mouse, I’ve gotta say it is definately a winner. It is roughly the same size as the Sensei, but it does not have an LCD screen on the bottom. That means you are pretty much getting the same mouse but not paying for the extra features you might not need.
Performance in games was great, and this mouse was even able to track on glass. Coupled with the great looks on this mouse, we’ve got a solid mouse. If the price is good enough this could be a fantastic purchase.
Now the deciding factor, price. Looking around the interwebs this mouse goes for $65-80 depending on where you buy it. If you can get it for $65, I would say do it! Now if you can only find it for $80 the value drops a huge amount and it would be a better idea to just get the Sensei RAW. Unless of course, you are a huge Guild Wars 2 fan.
For the sake of having a score at the end of the review let just average out those prices and say the cost is $72.50. At that price it is not a horrible deal, but I would much rather prefer $65 across the board.
Pros:
- Dual buttons on both sides of the mouse
- Matte coating
- Great Tracking
- Guild Wars 2 logo and lights look great
Cons:
- Pricing varies by a large amount
- Cable not braided
- White on mouse gets dirty
Final words
Steelseries has once again built a solid mouse that is plagued by pricing problems. Depending on where you can find the mouse for sale, it ranges from getting a solid deal to paying too much for this mouse. Aside from the price, the mouse itself is very well built. Performance throughout testing was fantastic and the added weight can aid in games where pin-point accuracy is important.
