Conclusion and Verdict
In conclusion, the Thermaltake ARGENT M5 Wireless RGB Gaming Mouse is built for all users. The shape is fully symmetrical. This means the buttons are also symmetrical. This is great if you use your mouse left handed. This also limits the overall ergonomic shape. The mouse is not curved or shaped to fit either hand. Most mice that aren’t ambidextrous have a shape that mimics a tilted palm. The mouse is still comfortable for being symmetrical. The button placement wasn’t terrible although it is going to take practice utilizing the buttons on my ring finger side. I usually use my ring finger to pull the mouse left and now having buttons there is going to be an adjustment. I typically use a claw grip style and in intense gaming sessions I apply a lot of pressure to the mouse body with my thumb, ring, and pinky fingers. So if you have a similar grip then the buttons may interfere with your current ring finger placement. If you aren’t used to having buttons on the right hand side of your mouse then there will be a small learning curve, you will need to adjust to.
As far as performance goes this mouse is loaded with features. The sensor is one of the better ones you will find available with DPI adjustments ranging from 100-16,000. All being able to be customized through the iTAKE software. The Omron switches felt great. You could click the switches all the way up, even towards the back of the finger rest, I could still get the click. You have a lot of clickable real estate. The smooth matte top coating is resilient. The sweat from my palms evaporated away with minimal signs of fingerprints or sweat. The mouse wheel is something worth mentioning. The scroll wheel is aluminum and has a very textured grip. I nice change from a rubber or plastic material. All this with a 1ms polling rate you can rest assured this mouse won’t let you down in the heat of the battle.
The lights aren’t over done which is great because that can really drain your battery. As you saw in the pictures on the previous page the lights are bright and has great color that is also full customizable in the software.
