Thermaltake X1 RGB Gaming Keyboard Review

Noise

As you can hear from the recording above this keyboard isn’t terribly loud during typing. Of course it’s a mechanical keyboard so naturally, it is louder than generic keyboards but as far as mechanical keyboards go it isn’t too bad.

MISC Features – Music Controls

The X1 comes with integrated music and volume controls. The control buttons worked as expected with Microsofts pre-installed music program but things online like Youtube don’t support media control via this keyboard yet.

The volume wheel and mute button work perfectly no matter the program and the wheel is rubberized to help you grip it during use.

Magnetic Wrist Rest

The keyboard also comes with a removable magnetic wrist rest. The wrist rest itself is fairly premium feeling and the magnets are strong enough that attaching the wrist rest to the keyboard is as easy as sliding it across the keyboard until it connects. Definitely a nice feature to have!

Dual level kickstand

The X1 keyboard also comes with a fairly unique feature that I haven’t seen on many keyboards, a dual level kickstand. While kickstands are nothing special on a keyboard this one lets you choose between two different heights depending on your preference.  The kickstand is also rubberized and do a good job of preventing the keyboard from sliding unintentionally.

Overall this keyboard offers some impressive performance and a great typing experience as well as some great features.

Now onto the final thoughts and conclusion!

You can buy the Thermaltake PREMIUM X1 RGB gaming keyboard from Amazon.com for around USD $130.
