Performance
The first thing you will notice when you unpack the mouse is the weight, this thing is HEAVY, something that brings both positive and negatives properties.
On the positive side this gave me a better “feel” when aiming and I experienced an increased ability to accurately snap my sight to the target and it also gives you a sense of true build quality. On the negative side, however, the weight of the mouse makes long gaming sessions a bit of a pain for those like me who have a low sense in most FPS games. Muscle fatigue in the lower arm and wrist became obvious after just about 2-3 hours of FPS gaming so I really wouldn’t recommend anyone to bring this mouse to Dreamhack etc.
Included in the package is a small allen key which allows you to change the height and angle of the part of the mouse that sits in your palm. This is easily done and is intended to offer each user a perfect fit. It took some time to get it just right, but when it was set up to my liking the fit was great! I really appreciated the option to adjust the angle.
The Tt Esports software for controlling the features of the mouse was easily installed, however I did have issues with the program crashing when using the mouse in wireless mode, but this was fixed with a software update.
Wireless connection never proved to be an issue even with the transmitter placed on the backside of my computer (which I have sitting on the floor about 1.5m away from where my mouse is), the connection was perfect at all times.
Using the software you can control the lighting on the mouse, with 16,8 million different colors from the RGB scale and a few effects like pulse, glow and spectrum running. Since this mouse is aimed at meeting the requirements of more enthusiastic users the software also offers a lot of more advanced features. For instance, you can assign custom macros to the buttons of your choice, as well as swap between several custom profiles on the fly
.
This opens up for the possibility to swap between button layouts without going in to the software, which means you could have one profile in Battlefield 1 set up for infantry combat and another for when you take on the role as a pilot. For me this was a game changer since it really helped me get the exact settings I wanted in various situations without me having to Alt-Tab and change settings.
The buttons placement was close to perfect for my large hands and I felt very confident about pressing the right button even at very intense situations. Mouse button 5 and 4 was accessed with the top of my thumb and the DPI/Macro buttons was controlled by the knuckle-part of my thumb. However for people with smaller hands I feel that especially mouse button 5 will be a bit hard to reach at times depending on your grip style.
