Today, we will be taking a quick look at the Yeyian AKIL 3500 TKL gaming keyboard. It’s compact TKL (65%) Bluetooth wireless keyboard featuring Anti-Ghosting and N-Key Rollover technology. It comes with a total of 69 keys featuring OUTEMU Hot-Swap Red switches, and offers IP42 splash-proof and dust/water-resistance. Inside, you’ll find the compact TKL keyboard, instruction manual, a keycap removal tool, and a USB-C to A cable, which can be used to connect the keyboard to the PC, and at the same times charges the keyboard.
A Closer Look
The letters on the keycaps are clear and easy to identify. Remember, you only get a total of 69 keys so a lot of the function keys are absent, so you’ll need to hold the “Fn” key to enable a lot of the other buttons.
The height of the AKIL 3500 keyboard isn’t too bad. It isn’t super slim, but a lot thinner than some of the wireless keyboards I’ve used.
The keyboard comes with a built-in 2000mAh battery, which takes around 4 hours for a full charge, and this will last you approximately 8 hours standby.
The keyboard comes with OUTEMU Hot-Swap Red switches, which are the linear type and offers excellent response with low actuation force. There’s no loud clicks and no bumps, which means quiet operation overall.
The keyboard can be operated using the included USB-C to A cable or simply turn on the switch on the back of the keyboard to activate Bluetooth pairing.
Yeyian AKIL 3500 in Action!
The RGB illumination kicks in as soon as you power up the keyboard using the USB-C cable or when the Bluetooth is activated. According to Yeyian, the AKIL 3500 TKL gaming Keyboard has a standby of up to 8 days from a full charge. Fast charge takes between 4 hours.

There’s no mention of any compatibility with RGB eco-systems from motherboard manufacturers, so the only way you can control the RGB lighting effects is by following the key press combinations below. Full instructions can be downloaded here.
Verdict and Conclusion
At 65% size, and measuring only 11.8” x 5.6” x 1.3” inches, the Yeyian AKIL 3500 is one of the most compact mini keyboard I’ve ever used. It does need time to get used to the size. I’m constantly figuring out how to activate the function keys and other short cuts.
Overall, typing on the keyboard was a pleasurable experience. What I really like about the keyboard is the Bluetooth connectivity, as well as the advertised Anti-Ghosting and N-Key Rollover feature.
For those who are not familiar with the different types of switches on keyboards here’s a simple infographic. Red switches are the linear type and often have an actuation force of around 45g, with an actuation distance of 2mm. If you want quiet operation and a fast response from the keyboard, the Red switches is what you’re after.
Another plus for me, is that this keyboard comes with the “Del” button and cursor keys. I know it sounds trivial, but this really helps when I need to activate the BIOS page during boot up LOL! As for the rest of the keys, you can replace the original keycaps with your own custom ones using included keycap removal tool.
