Performance – part 1
All tests were performed on the ASRock B550 PG Velocita motherboard, Ryzen 9 3900X processor, XFX RX5600 XT Thicc Ultra III graphics card, 16GB HyperX Predator DDR4-4266 memory kit, and Silicon Power US70 PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD on which was installed Windows 10 Pro x64 OS with the latest updates. In tests were also used additional memory kits and storage devices. Everything else will be mentioned during the tests.
Memory performance
The motherboard has no problem handling memory up to DDR4-5000, which is an improvement comparing to previously reviewed ASRock X570 motherboards. However, the most important for most gamers is how the memory works at DDR4-3600 and tight timings. As you can see, DDR4-3600 CL14 is also not a problem.
The motherboard was also tested with Micron, Hynix, and Samsung 8GB modules, Samsung and Micron 16GB modules, Hynix, and Micron 32GB modules. There were no issues during tests, and every memory kit could run at XMP settings.
Processor performance and mixed load tests
The performance and stability of our processor are excellent. There were no problems to reach boost frequency under full load.
There are no problems with compression and decompression tests under high load. Also, rendering benchmarks like the Cindbench series performs well and without any issues.
In the Cinebench (above) and the PCMark benchmark series (below), the performance of our test platform is excellent. Results are similar to those made on X570 motherboards.
PCMark 8 and PCMark 10
PCMark results are essential as they’re showing how all components work with each other in a mixed load environment. It can be translated into regular daily work, so what we all do and expect good results. The PG Velocita delivers excellent results in every category.
