Verdict and Conclusion
Over the past few weeks, we reviewed a plethora of B850 motherboard which included the ASRock Phantom Gaming B850 Riptide WiFi, ASRock B850 Steel Legend WiFi, and the ASRock Phantom Gaming B850M Riptide WiFi. All of these motherboards are targeted at the mainstream market, for gamers who’s after a next-gen AMD motherboard that offered decent performance at an affordable price.
For many years, gamers have mostly driven the DIY PC market in one way or another. But more recently, there has been an increase in streaming and social media content. This increase gave birth to a new category of users, namely Content Creators. It’s a very niche market, but a growing market nevertheless.
ASRock are among the first manufacturers to cater for these new type of users, with the launch of their LiveMixer series of motherboards. It featured plenty of storage options, which are need to save large video content, as well as a huge amount of USB ports for connecting a vast assortment of USB decives, such as webcams, mics, control decks, capture cards, audio interfaces and more.
The ASRock B850 LiveMixer WiFi is ASRock’s newest addition to their LiveMixer Series of motherboards. It’s designed for streamers or content creators who’s after an affordable next-gen AMD motherboard with lots of connectivity for streaming and other auxiliary devices.
It utilizes AMD’s latest B850 chipset and it’s compatible with all the latest Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series of processors on the AM5 socket. It also features a 14+2+1 Power Phase Design with 80A Dr.MOS for VCore+SOC, giving you and enhanced stability for streaming and gaming performance.
During our tests, we used our usual test rig which is comprised of a Ryzen 9 9950X processor, 32GB of Patriot Viper Gaming Xtreme 5 DDR5-7600 ram, Crucial T700 1TB PCIE Gen5 SSD, and the GeForce RTX 4080 Super. We managed to get very good scores in all of our benchmarks, including a Cinebench 2024 score of 2,301 points for multi core, and 135 points for single core. For PCMark 10, we got a decent score of 10,670, and a score of 17,383 for PassMark 11.
For Procyon Video Editing Benchmark, we a got score of 11,790 and a score of 232 for the AI Computer Vision Benchmark. For 3DMark Steel Nomad and Speedway, we got very good scores of 6,792 and 7,583 respectively. And finally, for Port Royal and Timespy, we got a nice score of 18,790 and 26,085 respectively.
For expansion slots, you get 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 steel slot for next-gen graphics cards, and 2 x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots (x4 mode), which supports a wide range of PCIe expansion cards to help boost creativity. The board comes with 4 x DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting both Intel XMP and AMD’s EXPO memory modules with speeds of up to DDR5-8000+.
For storage, you only get 2 x SATA ports, but there’s 1 x Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5x4) featuring their Toolless Multi-Layer M.2 Heatsink design, and 2 x Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4) slots for SSDs. The motherboard also come with a bottom heatsink which enables it to dissipate heat more efficiently.
The motherboard supports WiFi7, Bluetooth, 2.5GB LAN and features an unprecedented amount of USB ports, 23 in total. This maximizes connectivity, and provides a more reliable and stable support for multiple auxiliary devices, such as webcams, mics, control decks, capture cards, audio interfaces and more.
There’s also great news for streamer. According to ASRock, the PCIe 4.0 x16 slots on the B850 Live Mixer WiFi has been tested with many video capture devices, including Avermedia GC553, GC573, Bu113, GC311, GC570D, GC570, and Elgato HD60 S+.
And to finish off … other features include the Realtek 7.1 HD Nahimic audio, HDMI output, DisplayPort, BIOS Flashback button, ASRock’s Polychrome RGB and SignalRGB support.

The ASRock B850 Live Mixer WiFi not only offers good performance, a great feature set, but it’s also perfect for streamers or content creators who’s after an affordable next-gen AMD motherboard with lots of USB connectivity.
