Overclocking

The X299 Professional i9 XE is one of the best motherboards on the market if we wish to overclock our Skylake-X processor. Strong power section and good cooling help a lot if we are using a processor with more cores.
In overclocking tests has been used the i9-7900X processor which under full load can easily pass 300W. It’s not a problem for the X299 Pro i9 XE. As we can see on the attached screenshots, we were able to set 4.8GHz at 1.25V and 64GB of memory at DDR4-3800. CPU overclocking is limited by the cooling which is custom water cooler. The memory clock doesn’t seem to be any special till we think it was made on 8 memory modules based on Micron IC – Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB DDR4-2666.
All that passed quite demanding and long PCMark 10 benchmark and couple of other tests. Below is expected memory bandwidth at mentioned DDR4-3800 settings. Results are simply great!
The X299 Professional i9 XE is outstanding motherboard which is clearly one of the best options on the market if we wish to overclock high wattage processors like the Skylake-X series.
