Overclocking to DDR-8600
According to ASRock, the ASRock Phantom Gaming B760I Lightning WiFi can support memory speeds up to DDR5-8600.
It requires V-color DDR5-8600 memory kits (TMXFL2486840KWK). First go to the BIOS page. Then select “DDR5-8600” in DRAM Frequency, and set the Primary Timing to 40-54-54-132.
Next, go to “Voltage Configuration” and set the “VDD” and “VDDQ” voltage to both 1.45V (1.4V); check if VDD_IMC is equal to 1.45V (1.4V). Then press “F10” to save setting and reboot to enter OS.
Finally, you can see the DRAM frequency runs at 8600 MHz, shown in the screenshot below running
on the Z790I Lightning WiFi motherboard, this memory kit reaches an astonishing memory bandwidth score of 130.49GB/s read, 129.01GB/s write, and 124.66GB/s copy in the AIDA64 memory
bandwidth test. This model even pass the burning test of Memtest pro.

Verdict and Conclusion
We all know that motherboards which uses the Intel Z790 chipset, usually offer the best in terms of features and performance. So it was a surprise to find out that, not only does the ASRock Phantom Gaming B760I Lightning WiFi offer similar performance and features to its bigger Z790 sibblings, but does so in such a small and compact size.
Now you all know, it’s no secret that I love mini-ITX motherboards, and in this case I can truly say … I can now add the ASRock Phantom Gaming B760I Lightning WiFi to my list of favourite mini-ITX boards.
Featuring a rock solid 14+1+1 Power Phase Design with SPS for Vcore+GT, it gives the board excellent stability and smooth power delivery. What’s more, the whole board is cooled by composite VRM heatsink which includes a cooling fan, and a large aluminum heatsink with heat pipe for maximum heat dissipation.
Expansion slots include 1 x PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (with SMT and reinforce steel slot) and for storage you get 3 x SATA ports, and 2 x Hyper M.2 PCIe Gen4x4 slots for your SSDs.
For connectivity, you get the Phantom Gaming 2.5G LAN and 802.11ax (WiFi 6E), which is plenty more than enough for most gamers, content creators and streamers.
During our tests, we used an Intel Core i9-14900K processor, along with 32GB of DDR5-7200 ram, as well as a GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card. We managed to get some really amazing scores in all of our benchmarks, including a Cinebench R23 scores of 32,202 (multi core) and 2,086 (single core). For PCMark 10, we got a score of 10,025, and a score of 17,280 for PassMark11.
For UL’s latest Procyon Photo Editing Benchmark, we got a really good score of 10,064 and 56,643 for the video editing suite. For 3DMark Speed Way and Port Royal, we got amazing scores of 7,346 and 18,182 respectively. And finally, for Timespy and Firestrike, we got really good scores of 27,831 and 43,158 respectively.
Graphics output for the motherboard includes 1 x HDMI 2.1 port, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4. As for USB connectivity, there’s plenty. You get a total of 11 USB ports, these include … 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (Rear), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (Rear), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (Front), 6 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (4 Rear, 2 Front), 2 x USB 2.0 (Front).
And lastly, you get all of ASRock’s unique features including the 7.1 HD Nahimic audio, 8-layer 2oz Copper PCB, and Polychrome RGB.

I have to admit, I’m pleasantly surprised by the features and performance the ASRock Phantom Gaming B760I Lightning WiFi has to offer, especially in such a small and compact mini-ITX motherboard. It offers good performance, decent overclocking ability and it’s perfect for compact PC project builds, mini-PCs and more.
