The B850M Riptide proves that we don’t need the most expensive motherboard to enjoy high performance in our favorite games. The motherboard is well-designed, and even though in some tests, results were slightly lower than those of the top X870E motherboards, then it’s still insignificant to the price difference.
During the tests, there were no problems with compatibility; even various memory kits with XMP profiles worked without issues. Everything works as ASRock declared. Even though some controllers, like audio, could be better, it’s still the best we can find in motherboards with the B850 chipset. ASRock still used WiFi7 and high-end power design, which the competition doesn’t use in most B850 models.
Since it’s a new model, some stores don’t have the B850M Riptide available. However, it’s starting to appear. We found it on Newegg for $189.99, which is a pretty good price for what this motherboard has to offer.
ASRock offers a three-year warranty for the Riptide motherboard, which is above average, as some brands still offer two years.
Final words:
The B850M Riptide may not be as glamorous as the great X870 and X870E motherboards from ASRock, but it’s a solid option if you are searching for a less expensive but still well-performing motherboard in micro ATX format. In terms of performance, it’s as good as their higher models for most users, but significantly cheaper. It’s the perfect choice for gamers with a lower budget but still expects high quality and various gaming features.
