Conclusion
The X870 Riptide is a well-designed motherboard that seems problem-free just after the premiere. It’s not as common on the current motherboard market as we may think, but ASRock took care of the BIOS and delivered a fully functional motherboard series, which surprised me. As far as it should be obvious, the competition does not always handle this task.
During the tests, there were no problems with compatibility; even various memory kits with XMP profiles worked without issues. Everything works as ASRock declared.
Based on our other ASRock X870/X870E tests, the performance was as high as expected. The difference between the Riptide and higher models is barely visible. At a much lower price, it’s a great deal for demanding gamers with a limited budget who still want the best results.
Since I mentioned the price, it’s very competitive. There is no similar motherboard from any other brand at around $308. This is the price we can find on Amazon right now.
ASRock offers a three-year warranty for the Riptide motherboard, which is above average, as some brands still offer two years.
Final words:
At the beginning of this review, I already said that the X870 Riptide is not an enthusiast motherboard like the X870E Taichi, but it shares many essential features and performs very similarly, delivering all the best for gamers. At the same time, it’s significantly cheaper, making it a perfect option for all those who focus on a gaming build for the best results.
ASRock X870 Riptide’s fantastic performance and low price have made it the new gamers’ choice and earned our Recommended Award!
