BIOS/UEFI and Software
ASRock BIOS/UEFI is already well-known, and we were presenting it in many previous reviews, so I think I don’t have to explain everything. The BIOS/UEFI itself is easy to manage. Everything is clear, and some options have an additional description. Everything that could be dangerous for the hardware is also marked, so less advanced users are being warned.
Let’s take a look at BIOS/UEFI windows and available options.
Main
OC Tweaker
Advanced
Tool
H/W Monitor
Security
Boot
Exit
In the BIOS/UEFI we can find everything required for monitoring and overclocking. There are also additional tabs with more advanced settings that enthusiasts and overclockers can use for additional performance gain. All other users are able to configure additional devices or functionality like RAID modes. There is simply everything you may need and for most users, there is even too much.
Software
As all ASRock motherboards, also the X299 Creator has additional software to manage motherboard’s settings and RGB lighting.
Even though we can see similar software on every higher series motherboard from ASRock then there are some things worth mentioning.
We are able to overclock our processor from A-Tuning software but most users who buy computer hardware for work won’t really do that. More interesting seem the fact that the same software lets us manage all fan headers. You can see that on the third screenshot or on previous BIOS/UEFI screenshots. We have full control of six fans what is pretty amazing if we want to build a large workstation with multiple devices that generate quite a lot of heat.
The last screenshot shows ASRock Polychrome Sync software which is managing RGB lighting on all motherboard’s connectors. As I mentioned earlier, the motherboard supports RGB but it doesn’t have its own lighting. If we wish, we can connect any popular device we wish.
Now it’s time on some tests so we are moving to the next page.
