Conclusion and Verdict
The X299 Taichi XE is without any doubt one of the best motherboards I had a chance to test. It’s great for any kind of users, regardless if it’s demanding gamer or professional graphic. Everyone will find something that is exceptional in this motherboard.
Personally I like how well Taichi XE is equipped. Most motherboards based on the X299 chipset will offer similar performance but not all will additionally give so many options of configuration. Especially storage setup is great. We can build large RAID on couple of SSD/HDD without issues what includes SATA, M.2 and PCIE connectors. If only Intel delivered fully functional VROC then it would be perfect but I count there will be updates in not far future.
I won’t hide that I love to test memory kits. For people like me ASRock BIOS is just perfect. There are many options and overclocking potential of the motherboard is really impressing. Without any special options we are able to pass DDR4-4000 mark in quad channel mode and only think that ASRock has also OC Formula motherboard which is designed for higher frequencies.
Next thing is design. ASRock Taichi series is on the market for some time but it still feels fresh, professional and somehow unique. That’s really good and for sure is an advantage on the market full of gaming motherboards which look like toys.
The X299 Taichi XE is available on Newegg for as low as $322.99. It’s simply amazing price for all what we get. It’s much lower than any competitive motherboard with similar set of features.
Pros:
- Perfect stability and compatibility
- Great layout and design
- 3x M.2 32Gbps support
- High overclocking potential
- Good cooling
- Double LAN
- WiFi+Bluetooth
- Inexpensive ( considering what it offers )
Cons:
- Nothing
Final words:
If you are looking for a top quality, well performing, well overclocking, fully stable motherboard based on the Intel X299 chipset with many additional features, great support and really great price then no look any further, the Taichi XE is here!
The X299 Taichi XE motherboard deserves Editor’s Choice Award like not many other motherboards I had a chance to review! Simply impressive!
