Conclusion and Verdict
I’m glad to see next amazing motherboard from ASRock. I just love these small motherboards with so high potential. Maybe the X399M Taichi is not as small as the X299E-ITX/ac but offers a bit more. Not to mention it would be nearly impossible to fit so large CPU socket and chipset into mini ITX size of PCB.
The X399M Taichi offers us the high performance and high stability but also really large options for expanding our PC. On the motherboard, we can find everything we may need for a gaming computer or small workstation. Even if we compare it with full ATX motherboards then we may miss only memory slots and maybe one or two PCIe slots which most users wouldn’t even use. More important is what we get. There are full speed PCIe slots, M.2 sockets, high-performance memory support and RGB lighting for all who care about PC looks.
ASRock X399M Taichi is available on Amazon for as low as $410. I just think it’s really reasonable price, considering how much this motherboard has to offer.

If you are looking for a small motherboard for AMD Threadripper processor then there is nothing else we could recommend as the X399M Taichi is the only micro ATX motherboard on the market. If you wish it to be also fully stable, well equipped and inexpensive then there are also not many options. If we add that the X399M Taichi supports all popular memory IC, has WiFi, supports RAID on NVMe drives, supports SLI and CF and did I mention … it’s micro ATX motherboard, then I think I don’t have to convince you more, it’s simply the best choice.
