Performance – part 2
Storage performance
Storage performance has been tested using popular SATA and M.2 drives. Above is a screenshot which is showing expected performance using Samsung 840 Pro so already old SSD. Even though it already has a couple of years, then results are still high. Especially random bandwidth results, which are supported by the CPU, are high. I guess we haven’t seen such a high random bandwidth results on previous AMD chipsets.
NVMe test has been performed on the Patriot Hellfire so also not the latest SSD. Again results are high, and I’m especially glad to see such a high random bandwidth as this is the most important in daily work.
Below is a result made in a PCMark 8 storage test. This is one of the best tests which is showing mixed load so pretty much what we can expect in daily work.
Network performance
The X570 Extreme4 has no WiFi controller, so network tests have been performed on Intel LAN NIC. Tests were presented with the low-end NAS which was nearly full, but the network bandwidth was still not much below the maximum theoretical performance of the 1Gbit NIC. Well done!
On the next page, we will take a look at results in 3D applications.
