Installation
There were no issues with the installation of the memory, CPU, heatsink. Just make sure you mount these components outside of your chassis before placing it into your case.
Installing M.2 SSDs can be a bit of a hassle. You need to take the entire heat shield cover off to access the M.2 slots. Screws are located on the back and front of the heat shield.
BIOS
Oddly, the BIOS for the X570 Phantom Gaming X does not have an “EZ mode” … does it mean that it’s designed for the enthusiast user only? Hahaha …
There’s options to select XMP profiles, overclock your CPU and tweaks for your memory … including adjustments for voltages and multipliers. Onboard devices can be enable/disabled via the BIOS too.
Realtek Gaming 2.5GB/s LAN and Wi-Fi 6
ASRock has included a Phantom Gaming dashboard that shows the health and status of the motherboard. The page below shows all my various components currently installed.
To fully take advantage of the 2.5GB/s LAN and Wi-Fi 6 found on the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming X, you’ll need to get yourself a router capable of support these new standard. But be warned … they’re not cheap, such as the NETGEAR Nighthawk AX8 8-Stream WiFi 6 Router costing USD $299 or ASUS RT-AX88U AX6000 Dual-Band WiFi Router for USD $325.
Wifi 6 can be identified by going into Windows 10 System Properties a and viewing the device manager page.
