Verdict and Conclusion
I’m not sure what ASRock has done with this motherboard, but all I can tell you is … they’ve done a very good job with the X570 Steel Legend. As you know, I run all my tests in AUTO mode, and this usually means default BIOS settings for both CPU speed and memory timings. But as it turns out during our tests, the memory ran natively at full speed of 3600MHz (XMP profile1 for our GEIL Super Luce DDR4-3600), while our Ryzen 7 3700X automatically run at a boost speed of 4.2GHz (default is 3.6GHz).
With these AUTO enhanced settings, we got some great scores in all of all benchmarks, including an impressive Cinebench score of 2,074, and a PCMark 10 score of 6,868. For Port Royal, we got a score of 6,461 and a DLSS score of 43.26 fps. For 3DMark Timespy and Firestrike, we got scores of 10,907 and 23,183 respectively.
As far as design and build quality is concerned, ASRock continues its “Steel Legend” philosophy with its high build quality, steadfast stability and great aesthetics. I really love the camo design and Polychrome RGB lighting effects.
The X570 Steel Legend also comes with a lot of features I didn’t expect for a mainstream motherboard … such as the 10 Power Phase design, M.2 armor heat shield, support for DDR4 4666+ (OC), AMD Quad CrossFireX™ and CrossFireX™, as well as Thunberbolt 3.
You can buy the ASRock X570 Steel Legend motherboard on Amazon and various other online retailers for around $199 USD – https://amzn.to/2YCTcyG. At this price, it’s probably one of the best value X570 motherboard you can get right now.
