The Box and Packaging
The outer box is HUGE, and inside you’ll find 2 smaller boxes. One holds the motherboard itself, while the other contains all the accessories. And in that box, you’ll find a quick installation guide, software setup guide, 2 packs of SATA cables (pair), 1 x screw driver, 3 x M.2 screws and mounts, and WIFI antenna for your WIFI6.
I was expecting to see the usual ASRock envelope, but it wasn’t included so I’m a little disappointed. However, you do get a pair of the velcro cable straps and a drivers disc.
The ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition Motherboard
The motherboard comes in an all matte black finish that’s not particularly exciting, but I’m guessing it’s required so that the Razer Chroma RGB lighting stands out. You’ll also find on the motherboard, ASRock’s XXL Aluminum Alloy Heatsink with heat-pipe, the built-in flexible I/O shield, as well as a I/O hood with the Razer Edition logo.
The first M.2 slot is easily accessible, just use the included screw driver to remove the heat shield, which is separated from the larger unit. The two other M.2 slots is a little more tricky. You have to remove the entire full-coverage heatsink to access it, which is can be bit of a pain.
A Closer Look
The motherboard is packed with a load of connectors including … 8 x SATA ports, 3 x PCIE 3.0 x16 steel slots, 1 x PCIE 4.0 x1 slots, 3 x Hyper M.2 slot for PCIE 4.0 SSDs, and 4 x DIMM slots supporting memory speeds of up to DDR4 4666+ (O.C.).
You’ll also find the onboard power-on/off and reset buttons, as well as the diagnostic LEDs, and of course the included active fan for cooling the X570 chipset.
For connectivity, on the rear I/O panel, you’ll find the clear CMOS and BIOS flashback buttons, 2 connectors for your WIFI antenna, PS/2 keyboard & mouse, USB 2.0, HDMI, 4 x USB 3.2 Gen1, 2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Rear Type A+C) Killer 2.5GB LAN, and the usual array of connectors for HD audio.
