Verdict and Conclusion
If you just want a motherboard that offers decent performance, at a really affordable price, then the ASRock X570S PG Riptide is your answer. It’s what I would call, a solid motherboard that I could easily recommend to any user. Whether they’re a gamer, enthusisast or just your regular system builder … you won’t find a better performing X570S motherboard out there.
During our benchmarks, it produced some decent scores, which were somewhat surprising. This include a Cinebench R23 score of 10,185, and a PassMark9 score of 6,688. For PCMark 10, we got a score of 7,783, and a score of 8,834 for UL’s latest Procyon Photo Editing Benchmark. For 3DMark Port Royal we got a score of 6,740 with a DLSS score of 74.77 fps. And finally, for Timespy and Firestrike, we got decent scores of 10,751 and 25,095 respectively.
The inclusion of the patent-pending Lightning Gaming Ports, as well as the unique Graphics Card Holder, is a nice added bonus, and makes the motherboard extremely attractive for gamers. These features are also found on the B550 PG Riptide. What I found particularly interesting with the X570S PG Riptide, is that there’s 2 tiny clear CMOS buttons on the motherboard, one on the I/O panel and the other on the motherboard itself. I would have preferred a larger button, but that’s just me 😀
When it comes to expansion and connectivity, the X570S PG Riptide is packed to the brim. To list a few … there’s 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 Steel slot for graphics card, 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slots, as well as 3 x PCIe 4.0 x1 Slot. For storage, there’s a total of 6 x SATA ports, 2 x Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4) for SSDs, and 1 x M.2 Key-E for WiFi module. And for connectivity, you get 3 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Front Type-C, Rear Type-A+C), 8 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (4 Front, 4 Rear), 6 USB 2.0 (4 Front, 2 Rear), and you also get the Killer E3100X 2.5GB LAN.
Want more? Well, there’s also the 10 Phase power, Digi Power, Dr. MOS, and of course, the 7.1 CH HD Nahimic Audio, as well as PolyChrome Sync.
