Conclusion and Verdict
ASRock Z690 PG Riptide focuses on the most important features for gamers and delivers high performance. This is what most users expect of the gaming series motherboards. In our tests, everything was working flawlessly. Considering so many wireless gaming devices, I could still expect to have a WiFi/Bluetooth controller, which is clearly missing.
The Z690 Riptide passed all our tests without issues. The performance was excellent, and there were no problems with stability. The motherboard has a robust power design and supports all available processors for the LGA1700. It also works well with memory kits at DDR4-4000, tight timings, and Gear 1 mode. This is what most gamers are searching for.
ASRock Z690 PG Riptide costs around $350 in the Amazon store. We could say it’s reasonable if we compare this price to other options on the market with the Z690 chipset. On the other hand, it’s clearly not cheap.
Pros:
- High performance
- High quality
- Easy to use BIOS/UEFI
- High compatibility with various devices
- Graphics card holder
- RGB/ARGB support and full synchronization
Cons:
- No WiFi/Bluetooth
Final words:
The ASRock Z690 Riptide is an excellent motherboard for gamers who want all essential features, but don’t want to pay for additional controllers or rarely used functionality. The motherboard is fast and stable, but more importantly it can handle most daily tasks with ease, plus there’s plenty of room for expansion. For those who are after more premium features, then you might want to take a look at the ASRock Taichi or Velocita series of motherboards, but it will cost you much more.
